MJBizConNEXT Direct virtual cannabis event symbolThis last week, Marijuana Business Daily held their first virtual conference amid our new pandemic era of business. It was a co-conference between MJBizConNEXT Direct, previously held in New Orleans, LA the past few years, and Hemp Industry Daily Conference Direct. Powered by CompuSystems, the conference included more than 55 live and on-demand sessions. It also included five interactive exhibit halls, networking and direct chat opportunities, and even times for direct connection with speakers.

MJBizConNEXT Direct typically served as an event for industry professionals to look at the future of the cannabis space, identify key insights to bring to their businesses, and learn practice applications for continued success. Though virtual conferences have proved difficult to create such an experience, our way of interaction certainly shifted the view. Over 700 people joined the event—a far cry from the thousands in events past—however, the numbers were encouraging considering the change to virtual.  

Like this conference, many companies had to serve their customers in a new way. The cannabis industry saw wide adoption of new methods to safely reach their consumers without sacrificing quality and service, and this event was no different. With MJBizConNEXT Direct’s focus on our future industry state, it could not help but creep into minds of attendees that events like this will be our future—at least for now. We know in-person conventions will eventually come back. However, Marijuana Business Daily proved that the cannabis industry can react quickly to change and make it work.
